The Newport News Scottish Rite has been providing Durable Medical Equipment (DME) free of charge to the community since the early 1990’s. The Medical Equipment Center has been operating in the same facility for a long time, even though the program has expanded over the years.
Last year the Newport News Scottish Rite Foundation considered and implemented a plan to expand the existing building. Many steps had to occur prior to initiating construction. In October 2020, with all the paperwork completed and the plans approved by the city, the Medical Equipment Center Expansion Project is coming to fruition.
